Two CGN projects win National High-Quality Engineering Award
CGN’s Units 3 and 4 of the Hongyanhe Nuclear Power Plant and 200MW Hongyan wind farm won the 2018-2019 National High-Quality Engineering Award.
Units 3 and 4 of the Hongyanhe NPP
The award is the earliest and most prestigious cross-industry and cross-discipline State-level accolade in recognition of the quality of engineering construction projects. It is headed by the China Association of Construction Enterprise Management under the supervision of the National Development and Reform Commission.
Construction of Units 3 and 4 of the Hongyanhe NPP began in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Unit 3 was put into operation in 2015, while Unit 4 followed in 2016. The two have maintained steady operation since. The core technical and economic indexes, such as nuclear island thermal power, maximum output of steam turbine, and service power rate, are all superior to the designed value. The performance indicators are at the international leading level, and each unit has eight key indicators reaching the world's top 1/10 in 2018.
Hongyan wind farm
Hongyan wind farm is located in Bayan Nur, Inner Mongolia autonomous region. Construction began in April 2015 and the wind farm was connected to the grid for power generation on Nov 30 that year.
The project has passed inspections related to fire protection, environmental protection, water and soil conservation, as well as archives. It strictly follows national mandatory provisions for engineering construction, adopts no State-prohibited technology, as well as has not had any general or above safety, quality, and environmental protection accidents.
This project is one of the first domestic wind farms that feature a layered arrangement based on optimized site selection. This not only improved the wind turbine utilization rate, but also won the provincial and ministerial-level scientific and technological progress award, as well as the national invention patent.
In addition, the application of the PVC formwork system in the Hongyan wind farm has effectively increased the number of turnover use, meeting the requirements of a green construction concept.
