The maximum wind force near the center was level 9 (23 m/s) at the time of landing, and the minimum pressure of the center was 990 hPa .
According to the unified deployment of China General Nuclear Power Group ("CGN" for short), CGN Yangjiang, Taishan, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base and Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Offshore Wind Power Project have made various preparations for typhoon prevention in advance before the typhoon landed, to be prepared to meet the challenge with the highest standards and the most stringent requirements to ensure that the units remain safe and stable during typhoon passing through.
From June 12th to 14th, the three major nuclear power bases of CGN had set up anti-typhoon "Parrot" special teams to formulate plans and coordinate the deployment of typhoon prevention. Before the "Parrot" landing in Guangdong, emergency personnel of the three nuclear power bases of CGN were in place, and preparations for various defense stations were ready. After the landing of the "Parrot", the rear personnel on duty and the 14 nuclear power generating units of the three nuclear power bases of CGN all remained in a safe state.
Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base
On June 12th, the emergency headquarters of the Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base organized a topical session on the prevention and resistance of typhoon "Parrot". In the meeting it informed the current trends of typhoons and status of operating units, and made detailed deployments and arrangements for various departments and units in response to typhoon prevention.
▲Throughout the day on June 12th, the staff of Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base installed wind shields for the doors of restaurants and office buildings to reinforce the doors
▲On June 13th, the site personnel at Yangjiang Nuclear Power Base installed anti-flooding devices on each corridor

At 19:30 on June 13th, Taishan Nuclear Power Base organized an emergency meeting for typhoon prevention in advance according to the possible escalation of the early warning, and deployed typhoon prevention missions. The headquarters started 24-hour duty. The emergency duty personnel were on duty and all preparations had been implemented. Taishan Nuclear Power Base was ready for typhoon prevention work.
On the morning of June 14th, the typhoon landed, the units at Taishan Nuclear Power Base remained in a safe state, and there was no loss of personnel or equipment in the nuclear power plant.
Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base
In order to effectively prevent the wind and rain brought by “Parrot”, No. 2 typhoon in 2020, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base held a "prevention-resistance kick-off meeting" in advance on June 12th, deploying in advance, responding quickly, fully implementing anti-parrot preparation work and requiring total suspension of outdoor operations in the base, and the operating personnel continued to pay attention to the status of the unit.
After the typhoon “Parrot” landed at Hailing Island, Yangjiang, Guangdong, at about 8:50 on the 14th, its impact on Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base was significantly weakened. At about 10:12 on June 14th, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base officially released its typhoon warning. After the typhoon passed, the personnel and equipment of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Base were all safe, and the production process was not affected.

CGN Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Offshore Wind Power Project
Faced with the first typhoon threatening CGN Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Offshore Wind Power Project in 2020, it held a typhoon prevention safety inspection meeting on the afternoon of June 12th, and established an emergency headquarters, developed a typhoon emergency response plan and sorted out the deployment of emergency supplies and personnel required for preparing for the war against typhoon.
On the morning of June 13th, the emergency headquarters implemented the typhoon defense work in the key areas of the offshore booster station and the onshore centralized control center, and effectively carried out the item-by-item inspection of the power station before the typhoon, the online monitoring and reporting during the typhoon, and the special inspection after the typhoon.
In the early morning of June 14th, Liu Qiang, General Manager of Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Offshore Wind Power Project, held fast to the frontline of the project and re-deployed and re-implemented the emergency defense work of the Nanpeng Island project. He requested that Nanpeng island project team should base on the defensive positioning against typhoon frontal attack, strictly comply with the typhoon prevention requirements, fully implement all typhoon prevention measures to do a good job in offshore windproof work, and ensure that the offshore construction vessels of Nanpeng Island Project return to the anchorage for shelter in the prescribed time, striving to minimize disaster losses to the minimum through well organization, careful arrangement, concerted efforts, and thorough implementation,.
During the typhoon, the workboat Hailong Xingye of Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Offshore Wind Power Project was suspended, and various operating equipment on the workboat was reinforced.
On the morning of June 14th, the "Parrot" would move northwest at a speed of about 24 kilometers per hour after landing on the Yangjiang River. The intensity gradually weakens, and the storm would continue for some time. The Yangjiang Nanpeng Island Project will continue to pay close attention to the latest progress of the "Parrot", remain vigilant, always adhere to the "safety first" working attitude, and be dedicated to its duties and stick to the front line until the threat of typhoon disaster is completely eliminated.
