Hot functional testing begins for San'ao nuclear power project unit 2

At 17:18 on March 13, 2026, all prerequisites for the Hot Functional Test (HFT) of San'ao Nuclear Power Project Unit 2 were met. The on-duty shift supervisor issued the test permit to the test director, marking the start of the HFT and the unit's entry into the critical performance verification phase before fuel loading.

The HFT is a core milestone before a nuclear power unit's fuel loading. It simulates the unit's actual operating conditions to comprehensively verify the functional compatibility and operational reliability of all systems and equipment under high-temperature and high-pressure environments, serving as a real-world test of engineering construction quality and equipment performance.

As a key project for the batch construction of Hualong One (HPR1000), Cangnan Nuclear Power has consistently adhered to the fundamental principle of "Safety First, Quality First, and the Pursuit of Excellence." By fully leveraging the learning curve effect, the company has comprehensively summarized, absorbed, and iterated on the construction and commissioning experience from Unit 1. It has continuously optimized construction logic, technical solutions, and management processes, solidly advancing civil, installation, and commissioning work. This has led to the start of the HFT at FCD+50.4 months, setting a new record for the shortest duration among similar units.

In the next phase, the project team will deeply practice the work style of "rigor, prudence, meticulousness, and practicality." It will strictly standardize testing procedures and advance all HFT tasks safely, smoothly, and orderly. The team will steadily progress toward key milestones such as first fuel loading, criticality, and initial grid-connected power generation, striving to make "each unit better than the last" and continuing to contribute San'ao's strength to the Group's batch construction of Hualong One (HPR1000).
