Pang Songtao meets with CLP Power Managing Director Law Ka Chun Joseph

On March 4, Pang Songtao, Deputy Party Secretary and General Manager of China General Nuclear Power Group, met with a delegation led by Law Ka Chun Joseph, Managing Director of CLP Power Hong Kong Limited (CLP Power), at the CGN Tower. The two sides exchanged views on further deepening cooperation.

Pang Songtao welcomed Joseph Law and his delegation and congratulated CLP on its achievements in 2023. He stated that through the joint efforts of both parties, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station and Yangjiang Nuclear Power Station have maintained safe and stable operations, and he expressed gratitude for CLP's long-term trust and support for CGN. Looking ahead to the 15th Five-Year Plan, CGN will actively develop nuclear power, vigorously advance new energy project construction, and further improve quality and efficiency through technological innovation and other means. He expressed hope that both sides would leverage their respective strengths to seek deeper cooperation in green energy and jointly contribute to the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Law Ka Chun Joseph provided an overview of CLP's business development in 2025. He noted that the two companies have established a 40-year strategic partnership and share a deep cooperative friendship. Since its completion, the Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station has continuously supplied Hong Kong with reliable and economical clean power, and he expressed sincere gratitude to CGN for its long-standing support of CLP. He added that, driven by a series of favorable factors including the development of the Northern Metropolis, the rise in electric vehicle ownership, and growing demand for data centers, Hong Kong's electricity market holds considerable potential. He expressed hope that the two sides will further deepen their cooperation to jointly usher in a new era for the next four decades of partnership.

The meeting was attended by T.C. Chan, President of CLP China; Clement Wu, Senior Vice President &Senior Director of Nuclear Power; Fang Chunfa, Secretary to the Board of Directors and General Manager of the Strategic Planning Department of the Group Company; and relevant leaders from the Group Company's General Administration Department, Daya Bay Nuclear Power, the joint venture company, and CGN Digital Technology.
